"Another truism of natural hygiene
is that we dig our own graves with our teeth. It is sad
but true that almost all eat too much quantity of too little
quality!"
You will have realized that the main cause of arthritis
is your diet and lack of exercise. One of the main problems
is that arthritic sufferers do not realize how important
their diet is when it comes to curing arthritis.
You must also realize that your arthritis has not developed
over night, your body is now showing the tell tale signs
of all those years of neglect and abuse it has suffered.
If you act early enough then you should be able to help
your body heal itself completely and achieve a full recovery.
If you have suffered arthritis for a long time, don't
despair - by changing your diet and lifestyle you can
still cure your arthritis.
You will need a new outlook on arthritis. Food is possibly
the most important factor in reducing your arthritic problems.
However, until recently medical professionals have overlooked
food as a method of curing arthritis.
Modern medicine takes the view that prescriptive drugs
are the main method of relieving the symptoms of arthritis,
however recent studies into food and nutrition strongly
suggests we are a product of what we eat and what we eat
can greatly influence our body's reaction to arthritis.
Herbal and natural remedies have been around since ancient
times but have been over shadowed by modern medicine and
practices. We will now look at your arthritic condition
as a by-product of what you eat and drink.
I personally believe food is the main cause of arthritis.
Eating the right diet allows the body to function properly.
Eating the wrong foods can aggravate arthritic symptoms.
This could be due to allergies, mineral imbalance and
lack of vitamins. Therefore, the best diets would contain
lots of vitamins and minerals, adequate amounts of protein,
low in sugar, low in fat and low amounts of stimulants
such as caffeine and alcohol.
I will try to explain why I believe food has the greatest
impact on arthritis in this section.
Protein
Proteins are vitally important for our survival. Approximately
25% of our body is made from protein and 65% of it is
water - that leaves only 10% of the body that is made
from a variety of other substances.
It is very unlikely that your diet would be lacking in
essential proteins, the problem occurs when there is too
much protein in your diet.
Protein rich diets create excess acid, the body tries
to neutralise the harmful acids using two main alkaline
- sodium and calcium. Once the body's sodium reserves
are depleted, it will start to use calcium directly from
your bone to neutralise the acid and so weakening it,
compromising the bone density. The more protein you eat
the more sodium and calcium is required to neutralise
the acid, increasing the risks of arthritis.
Fats
Studies have shown that arthritic patients who went on
a low fat diet had reduced arthritic symptoms and as soon
as they returned back to a high fat diet the symptoms
returned as well.
One possible explanation could be that high levels of
saturated fat prevent the body from turning the essential
fatty acids into anti-inflammatory prostaglandins, which
can reduce the inflammation, pain, and help increase mobility.
In the long run low fat diets will help control weight
and reduce the risk of arthritis to the weight bearing
joints.
My step by step programme cuts out all the irrelevant information that you don’t need to know and focuses only on that which will help you. The most important thing I hope you can take away from this page is that the food you eat can greatly influence you health as well as arthritis and it is something you will have to address if you are serious about curing arthritis.
