Arthritis Treatment and Relief
Tips and advice for arthritis sufferers

Are allergies important in the battle against Arthritis?

Over 30% of people suffer from an allergy. An allergic reaction is where your body's immune system reacts abnormally to a substance that has been consumed, inhaled or applied to the skin.

Depending on your body's tolerance level the reaction can be extremely severe requiring immediate medical attention or very mild and simply cause little irritation going almost unnoticed. The most common allergic reaction is swelling - similar to swelling found in and around the joints of arthritic patients.

Most arthritis sufferers have an abnormal or over-reactive immune system. Although no studies have specifically investigated its significance it is still quite possible those allergies could increase symptoms of arthritis since both allergic reactions and the swelling and inflammation around the joints are very similar.

Essentially, what I am trying to say is that if your body responds badly to certain foods, then you should make every effort to avoid them altogether. If you are unsure exactly which foods these may be then either follow our regimen in our simple step by step programme or contact a nutritionist.
